Lords of Everquest Previews//General News

EQVault have posted their preview of Lords of Everquest.

Zerging, anyone who has played an RTS online knows the tactic all to well. Throw masses of cheap quickly produced forces at your opponent and smothering them quickly. The ease with which it's possible in almost each and every RTS since the original Warcraft has long been a bone of contention amongst fans of the genre. The unit development system in LOE is designed as the latest attempt to counter the most loathed of online tactics.

Not to be outdone, Games Domain have also posted their preview of the game.
It's not enough that people spend hours every night of their lives, plugging their hearts, souls, and guts into the time-devourer that is Everquest, is it? Just not enough, oh no. Instead, the minds behind the gargantuan phenomenon have seen fit to further increase their hold on our very psyches with further products from the insanely popular universe, and foremost among those is Lords of Everquest, a real-time strategy game set 1,000 years in the past of the world of Norrath.

Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance Preview//General News

Gamespot US have posted a preview of Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance based on seeing the game running on the Nvidia stand.

When we picked the game up, we found ourselves on some kind of island floating in the sky that appeared to act as a hub between levels. The island had areas of long grass that moved quite convincingly in the wind, but very little of else of interest, save for an open doorway into a level. The level we were transported to took place on a beach where the sea was lapping in and out and made for a quite tranquil scene in which to use our sword to break open the numerous barrels that were looking out of place and spoiling the view.

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Gamer Denied A Demo//General News

Gamespys' Fileplanet and the publishing behemoth Activision were subjected to the collected wrath from a number of game news sites last night after the Call of Duty demo became the straw that broke the proverbial desert dwelling mammalians dorsal support structure.

After non-Fileplanet subscribers were denied access to a demo of a game they wanted to buy for the umpteenth time a number of the webs major news site players finally had enough and got together and drafted an open letter to send a very clear message, continue with the exclusivity gig and your demos will find no room at the inn when the exclusivity ends.

Much to the delight of gamers around the world, who almost universally despise the practice, it now seems that Activision have seen sense (why deny the vast majority of customers access to your product?) and the demo will be available to all on Friday night (US time).

Total sales for the TOP 100 this week amounts to some 1.05 million units. And this represents 60.01% of the last week total, and 114.60% of the weekly average. Though the software market this week did not reach to the same level as the last week, which saw the release of "World Soccer Winning Eleven 7", the total software sales continue to stay over the million marks.
