So, drop us a line in the comments thread and wish us a happy birthday :)

For Sale: Ultimate VideoGame Collection//General News

It's not often we post links to eBay, but this collection, spotted by ElectricBoogaloo, is large enough to be worthy of mention. There is a lot of software for sale, with more than 3,000 titles included.

It's offered for sale as a job lot, and would be perfect for the comfortably well off Japanese video game fanatic. The asking price? US$100,000 and it's yours today.

THQ Gets Juiced//General News

Following Acclaim's bankruptcy, the future of street racing game Juiced started looking shaky. Now publisher THQ has stepped up and been awarded the publishing rights to the game.

THQ submitted the winning bid for the property, which was approved on October 6, 2004, by an order of the U.S. bankruptcy judge overseeing the Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings of Acclaim Entertainment. Acclaim Entertainment had previously held the rights to the "Juiced" property. Subject to final contract and certain closing conditions, THQ plans to release "Juiced" for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® videogame system from Microsoft and PC in summer 2005.

Latest Japanese Console Sales Charts//Console News

    (article by Media Create)

Top 100 title sales amounted to 711,372 units, 71.01% of last week's total and 75.36% of the weekly average. Sales continued to bubble along nicely as a result of the strong releases of last week and the week before, but the only notable new release this week was "NARUTO: Narutimate Hero 2". Other than this title, sales were weak at approximately 481,000. The market has started to track gradually downwards.

Twelve new titles made the ranks, with new releases accounting for 43.56% of total sales. "NARUTO: Narutimate Hero 2" sold approximately 231,000 copies. It is a good start for the title, which clocked up almost 100,000 more first week sales than its predecessor, "NARUTO: Narutimate Hero" (about 136,000 copies for the first week). It clearly shows that NARUTO has become very popular now. However, other new titles are making little headway, and the weakness of the new titles is reflected in the difference in overall sales between this week and last week.

    TOP 10 Weekly Software Sales (September 27, 2003 - October 3, 2004)

TDK Announces World Racing 2//General News

TDK Mediactive has released some screenshots from the upcoming World Racing 2, sequel to Mercedes benz World Racing. The original game stood out amongst similar games not only for it's realism, but for the free form nature of the game world, with racing tracks overlaid onto a completly accessible world, rather than restricting racers to only the confines of the track.

World Racing 2 enhances the technology of the game's fore-runner World Racing, which introduced an innovative 3D landscape technology and sophisticated driving physics. While World Racing focussed on the simulation aspect, World Racing 2 will put the fun of driving at centre stage and offer optimised arcade racing characteristics, rich and varied range of mission modes, lively scenarios, enhanced tuning options and a great variety of cars.
You can check out the screenshots by visiting To The Game or Warlock Team (which has more pictures). The new version, which features more than just licensed Mercedes Benz vehicles, is due for release towards the end of 2005 for PC, PS2 and Xbox.
