| Sony Launches Stargate Trading Card Game | //General News | Whilst gameplayers and sci-fi fans everywhere are still eagerly awaiting a Stargate MMO (and wondering what really happened with the PS2 game), Sony have launched a Stargate Online Trading Card Game. "The STARGATE franchise has an impressive legacy and we've put a lot of effort into making the game an authentic and engaging experience that captures that legacy both in online and tabletop formats," said Scott Martins, Director of Development for SOE-Denver. "SG-1 lays the foundation for several planned expansions, including sets based on STARGATE ATLANTIS. Expansions will not only incorporate familiar content from the show, they’ll offer players a multitude of new strategic options."
The STARGATE Online TCG challenges players to assemble teams of their favorite characters and send them on missions throughout the galaxy. Players learn from their successes and enhance their abilities as the game progresses. You can find out more from the official website.posted by cro on 29/04/2007 at 17:13:39

| KOTOR MMO: The Rumours Return | //PC News | CVG are stoking the rumours mills some more with a story speculating that Bioware are currently working on a massively multiplayer Knights of the Old Republic console game, based on a report printed in the US magazine EGM. No further details were reported in the rumour section of the US magazine but we've taped our fingers crossed. KOTOR is one of our favourite Star Wars games ever and the thoughts of an online MMO is, frankly, too much to take in. posted by cro on 26/04/2007 at 09:49:50

| Tomb Raider: Anniversary Release Date | //PC News | Eidos has announced that Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be released on June 5 this year, in the US at least. "Tomb Raider: Anniversary offers Lara fans something highly original, but also offers gamers who are new to Lara, a completely fresh and new action adventure game," said Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Robert Lindsey, Eidos, Inc.
Created with an advanced version of the engine used for Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend, the gameplay mechanics, artificial intelligence and level puzzles of Tomb Raider: Anniversary are now more refined, in-depth and complex. The technology has also enabled all of the nostalgic environments from the original adventure to be envisioned on a much grander scale. Most importantly, Tomb Raider: Anniversary faithfully preserves the elements which made the original such a success.
"The original Tomb Raider made Lara Croft into the digital icon that she is today," said Director of Marketing, Matt Gorman, Eidos, Inc. "Tomb Raider: Anniversary is our way of paying tribute to Lara Croft and the history of the franchise by exploring the roots of what made the Tomb Raider game successful." No news on a European release date yet, unless I missed it.posted by cro on 25/04/2007 at 10:07:55

| Postal Turns 10 | //PC News | Yes, you read that right - the ultra-violent FPS game Postal is 10 years old. "THANK YOU to all our fans, to gamers of all ages and genres, and to all those that wish we'd go away â€" RWS has no regrets," declared a proud Vince Desi, RWS CEO. "Over the past ten years many a fan has walked in the shoes of the Postal Dude and, most importantly, enjoyed every step of the gameplay."
Despite the fact that the POSTAL series has been the favorite whipping boy for political demagogues decrying mayhem in modern gaming, the POSTAL franchise has sold over one million units worldwide and received copious awards from the game industry while being licensed in over a dozen countries. From featuring TV's #1 child star Gary Coleman in POSTAL 2, to appearing in the Black Eyed Peas’ breakthrough music video hit, "Where Is the Love?", Running With Scissors will climax the 10th Anniversary with the release movie POSTAL by controversial film director Uwe Boll. Uwe Boll? Well, that'll be a good movie then...posted by cro on 25/04/2007 at 10:05:14

| Katamari Goes Online | //PS3 News | Bandai has announced that the next Katamari Damacy game, named Beautiful Katamri, will be released on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and will include an donline component. Experience the new high-definition, next generation sights and sounds of Beautiful Katamari as the Prince takes on a new high-rolling adventure, with his famous cousins in tow, to save the Katamari universe once again after the King of All Cosmos has a very un-royal and unfortunate accident. As usual, the King of All Cosmos demands the service of his son, the Prince, to roll anything and everything up into massive clumps and set things right, bringing harmony once again to the Katamari Cosmos.
Take the Prince for a spin in astounding 720p next-gen graphics, that stay true to the quirky yet captivating art direction the series is known for, but glistening with a new coat of paint in high-definition, as the Prince is tasked to roll up bizarre objects in brand new environments. To keep his son inspired, the King of All Cosmos will provide another fresh and memorable soundtrack that will have players moving and grooving to the beat as they roll through the absurd, yet wonderful world of Beautiful Katamari. No release date for Beautiful Katamri has been announced as yet.posted by cro on 24/04/2007 at 10:26:49

| Spiderman 3 Previewed | //PS3 News | We've swung around London and back into the office to preview Spiderman 3. Here is a short snippet from the preview: In the presentation our host showed us some really cool next-generation Spiderman moves by beating up a gang of thugs and then he used Spiderman's spinneret wrist devices to project web fluid onto the gang members arm and onto a lamppost but it didn't stop there, he set loose another, another and by the end of the fight, the gang member was suspended by his limbs to three lampposts and one street sign. It was certainly a pretty cool sight. You can read the full preview via our articles section.posted by duke on 23/04/2007 at 15:36:18
